We are pleased to offer specific classes for the layperson and those non-licensed healthcare professionals. The majority of our courses though are taught as continuing education modalities for people who are licensed or certified to perform manual therapy. There are rare occasions when non-healthcare practitioners may attend these courses. We simply require you to sign a consent form stating that you understand we are not teaching you to be a professional therapist and note that our courses do not offer any type of licensure to perform therapy professionally.
Qualifications to practice bodywork vary greatly based on state/province. Ability to practice specific modalities may also vary based on profession. Some states and provinces do not require a specific license to be held in order to practice. Industry regulations are known to change frequently. Please contact your state or provincial licensing board for specifics.
To receive the student discount (available in most cases for the entry-level class of each modality), you must be enrolled in a full-time educational program designed to lead to licensure or certification as a manual therapist. Massage Therapy programs must be a minimum of 500 hours.
